The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Josué Quadros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chicão de Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After 62 minutes of play, Argenita FC's Laércio Pontes made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wellington Leme couldn't finish the play. Laércio Pontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Diego Mattos was a little too slow when Eurico Macedo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 84th minute. The score was now 2-2. Diego Mattos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eurico Macedo in the 87th minute of the match. Josué Quadros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chicão de Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Diego Mattos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bruno Valladares in the 94th minute. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
