Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Augusto Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chicão de Souza in the 4th minute of the match. When Chicão de Souza came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Argenita FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chicão de Souza couldn't finish the play. Augusto Lara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laércio Pontes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13th match minute, Defensores F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgar de Salles to maneuver through the defense. In the 16thth minute of the game Laércio Pontes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Defensores F.C.'s Augusto Lara was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chicão de Souza in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Augusto Lara saved Defensores F.C. from getting behind. Luizinho Sergipano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Diego Mattos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chicão de Souza struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Augusto Lara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Argenita FC. In the 26th minute Zeca Queiroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Mattos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 28 played minutes Defensores F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Germano Camargo. Diego Mattos didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 41st minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. Argenita FC's Diego Mattos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Argenita FC from getting a goal against them.

When Alfredo Tasso came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Argenita FC fans jumped to their feet. With a little luck, Defensores F.C.'s Augusto Lara got control of the ball when Chicão de Souza tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 64th minute, Chicão de Souza made a precise shot to the right of Augusto Lara. Defensores F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. A collision led to Defensores F.C. getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Erik Tinoco hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Argenita FC's Hílton das Neves tried to score from far away in the 68th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Chicão de Souza kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Zeca Queiroz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Defensores F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Zeca Queiroz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diego Mattos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 82nd minute, Walmir Oliveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Defensores F.C.'s zone, Chicão de Souza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Augusto Lara came out of the goal and Chicão de Souza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Diego Mattos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeca Queiroz, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. The Defensores F.C. support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
