CRUZEIRO ESPORTE CLUBE's Shannon Barnard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yıldırım Orguntay in the 15th minute of play. After having played for 19 minutes, Turkka Jatkola managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C Águias de Ouro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Turkka Jatkola was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 20th minute Knut Västerberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shannon Barnard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hamílton Salles during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 28 minutes of play, F.C Águias de Ouro's Turkka Jatkola made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Shannon Barnard was left in no man's land by his defense there! Shannon Barnard showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yıldırım Orguntay in the 33rd minute of the match. F.C Águias de Ouro were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after CRUZEIRO ESPORTE CLUBE's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ota Rio took the corner. The corner ended in Ota Rio almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but CRUZEIRO ESPORTE CLUBE's Shannon Barnard did a great save. After some careless play in the CRUZEIRO ESPORTE CLUBE defense, Knut Västerberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Shannon Barnard. The CRUZEIRO ESPORTE CLUBE fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Shannon Barnard should have stopped the shot. After 44 minutes of play, F.C Águias de Ouro's Yıldırım Orguntay made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Shannon Barnard was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erasmo Furlan to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, F.C Águias de Ouro's Yıldırım Orguntay sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Shannon Barnard narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 62 minutes into the game, Turkka Jatkola recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Shannon Barnard. Turkka Jatkola showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. After 66 minutes, Didi Marques mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CRUZEIRO ESPORTE CLUBE and the F.C Águias de Ouro players grew even worse after the yellow card. 66 minutes into the game, one of CRUZEIRO ESPORTE CLUBE:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Shannon Barnard, was totally fooled by F.C Águias de Ouro's Ota Rio, who 67 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The supporters of F.C Águias de Ouro booed when CRUZEIRO ESPORTE CLUBE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wiliam de Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ota Rio was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 71st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Yıldırım Orguntay received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Shannon Barnard came out and tried to block the shot, but Yıldırım Orguntay slotted it home off the left post making it 0-7 in the 87th minute. In the 90th minute Turkka Jatkola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shannon Barnard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 97th minute Agostinho Munhoz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mehmet Edip Nazmi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yıldırım Orguntay struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Shannon Barnard didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for F.C Águias de Ouro. F.C Águias de Ouro's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
