With an extended leg and a bit of luck Enrique Pontes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lu Ladron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Pontes having to interfere. If Válbson de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Motta Futebol Clube fans' excitement grew in the 10th match minute when Motta Futebol Clube's Válbson de Alcântara looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Artur Sabóia came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Motta Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. After some careless play in the Brazabrantes defense, Válbson de Alcântara kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Enrique Pontes. The Brazabrantes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Enrique Pontes should have stopped the shot. If Xie Ao had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Brazabrantes's goalkeeper Enrique Pontes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Danilo Arantes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Motta Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Danilo Arantes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 87th match minute, Brazabrantes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastião Travassos to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Brazabrantes's Sérgio Lima got a free kick in the 89th minute.
