S. C. NAVEGANTES's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Heliópolis FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, S. C. NAVEGANTES's Percival do Vale got a free kick in the 16th minute. Christiano Bueno, 17 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Claudinei Dantas in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bruninho Lucas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. S. C. NAVEGANTES's Bruninho Lucas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinei Trancoso in the 24th minute of play. Davi Dal Bello could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Valdo de Lara made a huge save. In the 26th minute, Heliópolis FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Kryspin Kilarski fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Davi Dal Bello made a kick off. Davi Dal Bello struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Valdo de Lara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for S. C. NAVEGANTES. In the 52ndth minute of the game Kryspin Kilarski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Heliópolis FC's Valdo de Lara was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. S. C. NAVEGANTES's Kryspin Kilarski got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Natanael Vargas during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 60 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Heliópolis FC! 3-2 became the score in the 72nd minute when Claudinei Trancoso elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The supporters of S. C. NAVEGANTES booed when Heliópolis FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlinhos Alvarenga didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudinei Trancoso in the 92nd minute of play forced S. C. NAVEGANTES's goalkeeper Bruninho Lucas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
