Spectators: 7479 (Terracing: 5611, Seating: 1719, VIP seats: 149) Pedro Paulo Paulista made the kick off and thus started the match. 3 minutes into the match, Percy Andrade notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Defensores de Savóia's Sidnei Vidal. Sidnei Vidal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Guabiraba SC's Albertinho Coutinho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Guabiraba SC from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Defensores de Savóia booed when Guabiraba SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alessandro Guerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Emílio Donatello came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Defensores de Savóia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emílio Donatello couldn't finish the play. Albertinho Coutinho made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Pedro Paulo Paulista sent off a good shot on target. 13 minutes into the match, Defensores de Savóia's goal looked a bit too open when Percy Andrade came free, but Sidnei Vidal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute, Alessandro Guerra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Albertinho Coutinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Décio Baiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 16 minutes of play, Defensores de Savóia's Pedro Paulo Paulista made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Albertinho Coutinho was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 20th minute Defensores de Savóia were awarded a corner. Duarte Britto went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Gerson Azevedo heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Sidnei Vidal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Percy Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Paulo Paulista in the 28th minute of play forced Guabiraba SC's goalkeeper Albertinho Coutinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Guabiraba SC defense, Falcão de Souza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Albertinho Coutinho. The Guabiraba SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Albertinho Coutinho should have stopped the shot. After having played for 35 minutes, Falcão de Souza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Defensores de Savóia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Falcão de Souza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Guabiraba SC defense, Pedro Paulo Paulista kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Albertinho Coutinho. The Guabiraba SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Albertinho Coutinho should have stopped the shot. Albertinho Coutinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Paulo Paulista in the 43rd minute of play. Emílio Donatello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Percy Andrade to make the kick off. Percy Andrade received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Sidnei Vidal came out and tried to block the shot, but Percy Andrade slotted it home off the left post making it 4-2 in the 53rd minute. Emílio Donatello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Albertinho Coutinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Paulo Paulista in the 63rd minute of the match. Albertinho Coutinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Paulo Paulista in the 66th minute of play. Alessandro Guerra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Sidnei Vidal made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedro Paulo Paulista in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Albertinho Coutinho saved Guabiraba SC from getting behind. A collision led to Guabiraba SC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Carlos Fernando Sampaio hit a great ball. In the 87th minute of the game Samuel Vale made a throw-in which Cristóvão Lopes played forward. In the 91st minute Percy Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sidnei Vidal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd match minute, Defensores de Savóia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emílio Donatello to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Defensores de Savóia booed when Guabiraba SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Fernando Sampaio didn't get a good kick on the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Defensores de Savóia fully deserved thier win.
