When Ariel Otsoko fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Xerife FC's protests and gave Ariel Otsoko a yellow card for diving instead. Ariel Otsoko hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bartolomeu's goalkeeper Duda de Souza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 15 minutes, Pedrinho Berger mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Xerife FC and the Bartolomeu players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 15th match minute, Xerife FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedrinho Berger to maneuver through the defense. Xerife FC's Lino Pirani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilvan Souza in the 17th minute of play. Lino Pirani didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sandrinho Velasco went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of Bartolomeu booed when Xerife FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmundo Tavares didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute of the match Xerife FC got a corner. Bartolomeu's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edmundo Tavares ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Maximo Ortzi managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Sandrinho Velasco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bartolomeu's supporters rose to their feet, but Sandrinho Velasco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lino Pirani breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 42nd match minute, Xerife FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ariel Otsoko to maneuver through the defense.

Duda de Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Douglas Duarte in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 55th minute Dráusio Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lino Pirani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xerife FC's Benê de Sousa managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Hermínio Simões in the 62 minute of the game. A collision led to Bartolomeu getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Dráusio Montenegro hit a great ball. Lino Pirani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilvan Souza in the 66th minute of the match. Douglas Duarte hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. After 70 played minutes Bartolomeu got a freekick which was hit by Edu Veloso. Benê de Sousa charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benê de Sousa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Benê de Sousa hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilvan Souza in the 79th minute of play forced Xerife FC's goalkeeper Lino Pirani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 84 minutes of play Xerife FC's Benê de Sousa was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Benê de Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. João Terry kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. When Hermínio Simões came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Bartolomeu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hermínio Simões couldn't finish the play. Lino Pirani was out of position in the 92 minute of play, and Gilvan Souza capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gilvan Souza really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. The Xerife FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Bartolomeu were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
