The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 7 minutes of play, The Blues Brothers FC's Márcio Ramos made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Romário Meira was left in no man's land by his defense there! Romário Meira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raúl Custódio in the 10th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mané Mangueira in the 12th minute of play forced The Blues Brothers FC's goalkeeper Jarbas Campidelis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute, Goiânia FC's Gustavo Barbosa seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Gustavo Barbosa the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Goiânia FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Gustavo Barbosa had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 14th minute of the game. One of Goiânia FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of The Blues Brothers FC:s goal. The referee gave The Blues Brothers FC a penalty, 16 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Márcio Ramos, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Goiânia FC's Romário Meira. 2-0. Nestor Guimarães's late challenge caught a Goiânia FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nestor Guimarães helped the player get up and apologised. In the 19th match minute, The Blues Brothers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nestor Guimarães to maneuver through the defense. Mané Mangueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Jarbas Campidelis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, Márcio Ramos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Romário Meira. Goiânia FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Márcio Ramos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Romário Meira came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by The Blues Brothers FC's Márcio Ramos. But to his dismay, Márcio Ramos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. In the 28th minute Mané Mangueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jarbas Campidelis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luiz Guilherme Madureira hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Romário Meira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raúl Custódio in the 32nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás do Valle in the 33rd minute of play forced Goiânia FC's goalkeeper Romário Meira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mané Mangueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Jarbas Campidelis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sílvio Luís da Silva in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Romário Meira saved Goiânia FC from getting behind. In the 53rd minute, Sílvio Luís da Silva ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Romário Meira was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. 56 minutes into the game, Mané Mangueira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Goiânia FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The Blues Brothers FC the free kick. After 56 played minutes Goiânia FC got a freekick which was hit by Mané Mangueira. With a little luck, The Blues Brothers FC's Jarbas Campidelis got control of the ball when Mané Mangueira tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Goiânia FC booed when The Blues Brothers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nestor Guimarães didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jarbas Campidelis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mané Mangueira in the 66th minute of the match. In the 67th minute Goiânia FC were awarded a corner. Vitinho Garcia went to the cornerflag to take it. Vitinho Garcia made a great header on Goiânia FC's corner, it was just that The Blues Brothers FC's Jarbas Campidelis managed to reach the ball for a save. 68 minutes into the game, Márcio Ramos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Goiânia FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Márcio Ramos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. 81 minutes into the match, Goiânia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sílvio Luís da Silva came free, but Romário Meira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joaquim Rocha hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Simão Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Romário Meira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Márcio Ramos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. The Blues Brothers FC fully deserved thier win.
