A collision led to Monreal FC getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Osvaldinho Cordeiro hit a great ball. 8 minutes into the match, Nelson Vander had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zé Carlos Lucas. Monreal FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nelson Vander was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 12 minutes into the match, Jamaica Roots's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Fernando de Alcântara came free, but Enio Rezende reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Róbson Neiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Carlos Lucas having to interfere. Zé Carlos Lucas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedrinho de Queirós, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 19 minutes into the match Pedrinho de Queirós climbed in front of goal and pressed up 2-0 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Zé Carlos Lucas. When Cícero Paranaense fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Monreal FC's protests and gave Cícero Paranaense a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Jamaica Roots booed when Monreal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cícero Paranaense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Monreal FC's Zé Carlos Lucas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Monreal FC from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedrinho de Queirós got free with Zé Carlos Lucas in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zé Carlos Lucas came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Jamaica Roots's Pedrinho de Queirós. But to his dismay, Pedrinho de Queirós quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. An unexpected shot in the 36th minute by Pedrinho de Queirós got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 37 minutes into the game, Jamaica Roots's Nelson Vander nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zé Carlos Lucas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Marcelinho de Medeiros hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Zé Carlos Lucas acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 41st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Pedrinho de Queirós. In the 43rd minute Luís Fernando de Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enio Rezende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 47 minutes into the match, Monreal FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrinho de Queirós came free, but Zé Carlos Lucas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luís Fernando de Alcântara to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, André Luís Pinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 53rd minute, one of Jamaica Roots:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Jamaica Roots. 58 minutes into the match, Monreal FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrinho de Queirós came free, but Zé Carlos Lucas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hélder das Neves took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zé Carlos Lucas. Zé Carlos Lucas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. Zé Augusto Terra was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 65 minutes into the match. A collision led to Jamaica Roots getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Zé Augusto Terra hit a great ball. 68 minutes into the match, Nelson Vander notched a goal, 6-1, to the right of Monreal FC's Zé Carlos Lucas. Zé Carlos Lucas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 71 minutes into the match, Monreal FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrinho de Queirós came free, but Zé Carlos Lucas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Válter da Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Pedrinho de Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rd minute, Pedrinho de Queirós made a precise shot to the right of Zé Carlos Lucas. Monreal FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-1. When Pedrinho de Queirós came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Jamaica Roots fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedrinho de Queirós couldn't finish the play. Nelson Vander recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. There was no doubt that Jamaica Roots were the better team. Jamaica Roots's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
