An unexpectedly hard shot by Vitinho Garcia in the 4th minute of play forced Omori F.C.'s goalkeeper Valdir Guerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Fernando Ferreira in the 12th minute of play forced Goiânia FC's goalkeeper Romário Meira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mané Mangueira got free with Valdir Guerra in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Romário Meira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alan Baiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Omori F.C.'s Valdir Guerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vitinho Garcia in the 24th minute of play. Valdir Guerra made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Mané Mangueira sent off a good shot on target. Mané Mangueira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Valdir Guerra made a huge save. Goiânia FC's Romário Meira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alan Baiano in the 32nd minute of play. When Alan Baiano came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Omori F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alan Baiano couldn't finish the play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 35th minute of the game. One of Omori F.C.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Goiânia FC:s goal. In the 36th minute, Vitinho Garcia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valdir Guerra was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 39th minute, Mané Mangueira made a precise shot to the right of Valdir Guerra. Omori F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Vitinho Garcia kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Valdir Guerra. That made the score 3-1 in the 44 minute of play. Valdir Guerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vitinho Garcia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Vitinho Garcia made the kick off in the second half. Valdir Guerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitinho Garcia, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. In the 54th match minute, Goiânia FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Perivaldo Salgado to maneuver through the defense. In the 55th minute, Carlos Fernando Ferreira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Perivaldo Salgado was shown his second yellow card after 57 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Valdir Guerra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mané Mangueira in the 61st minute of the match. Romário Meira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jerônimo Madureira in the 62nd minute. In the 63rd minute of the match, Carlos Fernando Ferreira got a very nice opportunity to score, but Romário Meira was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The supporters of Omori F.C. booed when Goiânia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simão Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 68 minutes, Simão Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Goiânia FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Simão Queirós was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 70 minutes, Mané Mangueira made it 4-1 with a short kick to the right side. Omori F.C.'s Valdir Guerra tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Romário Meira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alan Baiano in the 74th minute of play. Goiânia FC's Romário Meira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Goiânia FC from getting a goal against them. Simão Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Guerra having to interfere. Nuno Maia scored 5-1 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Valdir Guerra, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the referee ended the match the Goiânia FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
