The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fantasy FT's Manoel Peixoto got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 13 minutes into the match, Albertinho de Senna notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Soneca AC's Wiliam Hoffmann. Wiliam Hoffmann was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Wiliam Hoffmann didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Manoel Peixoto went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Wiliam Hoffmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manoel Peixoto in the 23rd minute of the match. Valdo Rosado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egídio Marques having to interfere. Albertinho de Senna scored 0-3 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wiliam Hoffmann, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Fantasy FT's Albertinho de Senna got a free kick in the 35th minute. When Betinho Maranhense came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Soneca AC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Betinho Maranhense couldn't finish the play. Manoel Peixoto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot 41 in the game by Valdo Rosado from a close distance when the talented Egídio Marques managed to make a qualified save. Fantasy FT's players were relieved. Egídio Marques made an important save on a dangerous shot by Valdo Rosado in the 43rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valdo Rosado got free with Egídio Marques in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Soneca AC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Fantasy FT were winning 0-3.

When the match clock showed 59 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Valdo Rosado sped through Fantasy FT's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Egídio Marques. Wiliam Hoffmann made an important save on a dangerous shot by Manoel Peixoto in the 63rd minute. In the 67th minute, Manoel Peixoto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fantasy FT fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. After a rather tough play, Soneca AC's Marcus Freire got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Egídio Marques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waldemar Vasconcelos in the 75th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Albertinho de Senna kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Wiliam Hoffmann. That made the score 1-6 in the 76 minute of play. Soneca AC's Fred Perez got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Soneca AC's Valdo Rosado in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Fantasy FT's goalie prevented a goal. 84 minutes into the match, Soneca AC's goalkeeper Wiliam Hoffmann had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Albertinho de Senna. The supporters of Fantasy FT booed when Soneca AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nestor da Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manoel Peixoto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wiliam Hoffmann having to make a save. Cafu Moreira hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valdo Rosado in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Egídio Marques saved Fantasy FT from getting behind. 95 minutes into the game, Soneca AC's Valdo Rosado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Egídio Marques made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-6. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Fantasy FT walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
