Jaime Tinoco was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Tancredo Zamudio showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 29 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Cristal's zone, Tancredo Zamudio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jaime Tinoco came out of the goal and Tancredo Zamudio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 34th minute, Luizão Arce made a precise shot to the right of Bruno Paraense. Rio Tavares Esporte Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tancredo Zamudio in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jaime Tinoco saved Cristal from getting behind. When Luizão Arce came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Cristal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luizão Arce couldn't finish the play. In the 45th minute Tancredo Zamudio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Tinoco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Rio Tavares Esporte Clube's zone, Serafim Tasso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruno Paraense came out of the goal and Serafim Tasso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luizão Arce was the one to do the kick off. Bruno Paraense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giovanni Pitta in the 53rd minute of play. Tancredo Zamudio scored 2-1 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jaime Tinoco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cristal's Jaime Tinoco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romualdo Azaola in the 61st minute of play. After 62 played minutes Cristal got a freekick which was hit by Benê Fantini. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tancredo Zamudio in the 65th minute of play forced Cristal's goalkeeper Jaime Tinoco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rio Tavares Esporte Clube's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Thiago da Mata in the 66th minute. It was a well-played corner which Romualdo Azaola managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand.
