But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Serafim Tasso couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Giovanni Pitta in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Laerte Amorim saved MILLENNYUM RACING from getting behind. MILLENNYUM RACING's Eduardo Nogueira got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luizão Arce hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luizão Arce in the 21st minute of play forced MILLENNYUM RACING's goalkeeper Laerte Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tostão Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Laerte Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erivaldo Catarinense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Giovanni Pitta might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Laerte Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 76th minute, MILLENNYUM RACING's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Luizão Arce fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 78 minutes into the match, MILLENNYUM RACING's goal looked a bit too open when Giovanni Pitta came free, but Laerte Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. MILLENNYUM RACING's Laerte Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luizão Arce in the 79th minute of play. In the 86th minute, Diamantino Rodrigues got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cristal's Erivaldo Catarinense got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
