The crowd rose to their feet as FC fura's Adalberto Cruz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jaime Tinoco. That made the score 1-0 after 12 minutes of play. With a little luck, Cristal's Jaime Tinoco got control of the ball when Raí Vaz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Erivaldo Catarinense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Erivaldo Catarinense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, FC fura's Cafu das Neves got a free kick in the 27th minute. Roberto Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Pedro Botelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Abel Maranhense hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. If Giovanni Pitta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 34thth minute of the game Luizão Arce who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC fura's Roberto Vale was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 36 minutes into the game, FC fura's Luís Fábio Veloso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jaime Tinoco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Cafu das Neves got his second yellow card in the match during the 40th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Giovanni Pitta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luizão Arce was the one to do the kick off. Cristal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC fura the free kick. After a rather tough play, Cristal's Benê Fantini got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 54th minute of the match Douglas Ramos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jaime Tinoco showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Cristal's José Pedro Botelho got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 60th minute, Cristal's Luizão Arce ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Roberto Vale. Roberto Vale yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. If Giovanni Pitta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luizão Arce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Giovanni Pitta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roberto Vale having to interfere. In the 78th minute, Luizão Arce got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Erivaldo Catarinense struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Roberto Vale didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cristal. Renato Faria hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. In the 85th match minute, FC fura was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Fábio Veloso to maneuver through the defense. Giovanni Pitta who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 86thth minute tested the skills of Roberto Vale when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Luizão Arce in the 88thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Roberto Vale, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Roberto Vale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giovanni Pitta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristal's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
