The supporters of Karpinski EC booed when Luverdense Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Faustão Magalhães didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Luverdense Esporte Clube's zone, Matías Abraão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Horácio de Medeiros came out of the goal and Matías Abraão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 11 minutes into the match, Luverdense Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Alberto Pimenta came free, but Horácio de Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Luverdense Esporte Clube defense, Matías Abraão kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Horácio de Medeiros. The Luverdense Esporte Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Horácio de Medeiros should have stopped the shot. Nelsinho Veloso hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Carlos Alberto Pimenta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 19th minute Matías Abraão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horácio de Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Alberto Pimenta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rodolfo Martins kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Carlos Alberto Pimenta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horácio de Medeiros having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, Matías Abraão had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Horácio de Medeiros. Luverdense Esporte Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Matías Abraão was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Karpinski EC's Carlos Alberto Pimenta got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 38 minutes, Zé Mendes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Luverdense Esporte Clube and the Karpinski EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. 39 minutes into the match, Luverdense Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Matías Abraão came free, but Horácio de Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Horácio de Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matías Abraão in the 41st minute of play. In the 47th minute Matías Abraão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horácio de Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carlos Alberto Pimenta was the one to do the kick off. Through an outstanding action, after 56 minutes, Horácio de Medeiros successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 59 minutes into the match, Carlos Alberto Pimenta dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Horácio de Medeiros, 0-4. When Nelsinho Veloso came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Karpinski EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nelsinho Veloso couldn't finish the play. Alan Trigo hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Carlos Alberto Pimenta scored 0-5 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Horácio de Medeiros, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Matías Abraão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute, Karpinski EC's Carlos Alberto Pimenta dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-6. Horácio de Medeiros made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Matías Abraão sent off a good shot on target. In the 78th minute, Carlos Alberto Pimenta reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Horácio de Medeiros. The goal made the score 0-7. After a rather tough play, Luverdense Esporte Clube's Alan Trigo got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Carlos Alberto Pimenta received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Horácio de Medeiros came out and tried to block the shot, but Carlos Alberto Pimenta slotted it home off the left post making it 0-8 in the 85th minute. After having played for 90 minutes, Eduardo Albuquerque managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Luverdense Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eduardo Albuquerque was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 93 minutes into the match, Luverdense Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Horácio de Medeiros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Matías Abraão. Horácio de Medeiros made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Carlos Alberto Pimenta sent off a good shot on target.
