Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Paulinho Mangueira started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After 10 minutes Betania's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luís Fabiano Donatello who took care of the corner kick. Luís Fabiano Donatello made a great header on Lucas Juniors's corner, it was just that Betania's Baltazar Nóbrega managed to reach the ball for a save. With a little luck, Lucas Juniors's Dário Saldanha got control of the ball when Roberto Saraiva tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 18th minute, Paulinho Mangueira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lucas Juniors fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Roberto Saraiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dário Saldanha having to interfere. Severino Furlan kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. In the 26th minute, Cássio Freitas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulinho Mangueira in the 28th minute of play forced Betania's goalkeeper Baltazar Nóbrega to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lucas Juniors's Dário Saldanha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Lucas Juniors from getting a goal against them. When Wanderson Freire came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Betania fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wanderson Freire couldn't finish the play. Betania's Elano Peres got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Severino Furlan's late challenge caught a Betania's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Severino Furlan helped the player get up and apologised. After 42 played minutes Lucas Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Severino Furlan. Lucas Juniors's Dário Saldanha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Lucas Juniors from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Wanderson Freire kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dário Saldanha. That made the score 2-1 in the 45 minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wanderson Freire to make the kick off. Donato Pena kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 53rd minute Wanderson Freire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dário Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roberto Saraiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wanderson Freire received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Dário Saldanha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Paulinho Mangueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 64 minutes, Luís Fabiano Donatello mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lucas Juniors and the Betania players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 64 played minutes Lucas Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fabiano Donatello. 67 minutes into the match, Lucas Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Saraiva came free, but Dário Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Lucas Juniors booed when Betania was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elano Peres didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Betania's Baltazar Nóbrega got control of the ball when Enio da Silva tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Betania's Wanderson Freire in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lucas Juniors's goalie prevented a goal. When Cássio Freitas came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Betania fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cássio Freitas couldn't finish the play. João da Mata hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Wanderson Freire recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulinho Mangueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 96 minutes into the match, Betania's goal looked a bit too open when Paulinho Mangueira came free, but Baltazar Nóbrega reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Betania were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Lucas Juniors for a fine match.
