The crowd rose to their feet as Caio Prado's Vito Fontes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eduardo Toledo. That made the score 1-0 after 3 minutes of play. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Caio Prado booed when Abstergo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rubens Varela didn't get a good kick on the ball. Caio Prado's Erasmo Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vicente Loureiro in the 14th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Abstergo's zone, Baltazar Amaral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eduardo Toledo came out of the goal and Baltazar Amaral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 17th minute, Rubens Varela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Caio Prado's Renan Donatello got a free kick in the 18th minute. With a little luck, Abstergo's Eduardo Toledo got control of the ball when Natanael de Amaral tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bruninho Fonseca hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. 30 minutes into the game, one of Abstergo:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Baltazar Amaral made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltazar Amaral in the 53rd minute of play forced Abstergo's goalkeeper Eduardo Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Abstergo's goal looked a bit too open when Baltazar Amaral came free, but Eduardo Toledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Baltazar Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caio Prado's supporters rose to their feet, but Baltazar Amaral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eduardo Toledo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bruninho Fonseca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erasmo Azevedo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. If Vicente Loureiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
