In the 3rd minute Eduardo Albuquerque shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Augusto Novaes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Horácio de Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flávio de Senna in the 7th minute of play. Horácio de Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flávio de Senna in the 10th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the match, Luverdense Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Flávio de Senna came free, but Horácio de Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Horácio de Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flávio de Senna in the 16th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilson Cruz in the 17th minute of play forced Luverdense Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Horácio de Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Augusto Novaes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eduardo Albuquerque in the 27th minute. Horácio de Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felippe Ferreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eduardo Albuquerque fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Augusto Novaes having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flávio de Senna in the 33rd minute of play forced Luverdense Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Horácio de Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horácio de Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flávio de Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luverdense Esporte Clube's Eduardo Albuquerque got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Eduardo Albuquerque came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Luverdense Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eduardo Albuquerque couldn't finish the play. 43 minutes into the match, Wilson Cruz notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Luverdense Esporte Clube's Horácio de Medeiros. Horácio de Medeiros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luverdense Esporte Clube's Horácio de Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Genílson Leite in the 48th minute of play. After the first half Paragua SS were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eduardo Albuquerque to strike the kick off in the second half. If Armandinho Brasil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute of the game, Paragua SS got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. With a little luck, Luverdense Esporte Clube's Horácio de Medeiros got control of the ball when Flávio de Senna tried to sneak it across the goal line. Kaká Sanches kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. After 66 played minutes, Paragua SS's Roger de Castro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Horácio de Medeiros came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Paragua SS reached it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Flávio de Senna got free with Horácio de Medeiros in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zé Mendes's late challenge caught a Paragua SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zé Mendes helped the player get up and apologised. Horácio de Medeiros was out of position in the 70 minute of play, and Flávio de Senna capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Flávio de Senna really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Eduardo Albuquerque recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Flávio de Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Horácio de Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 82 played minutes Luverdense Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by André Senna. The supporters of Luverdense Esporte Clube booed when Paragua SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Genílson Leite didn't get a good kick on the ball. Flávio de Senna might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Horácio de Medeiros. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Flávio de Senna ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 98th minute, Flávio de Senna reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Horácio de Medeiros. The goal made the score 0-4. When the final whistle sounded Paragua SS left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Luverdense Esporte Clube.
