Breno Machado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 8th minute, João da Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vladimir Tavares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duda Arantes in the 11th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Jung 1972's goal looked a bit too open when Silas Sena came free, but Breno Machado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Breno Machado had great luck who in the 15thth minute grab hold of the ball when Silas Sena from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. In the 17th match minute, Guaratiba FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abelardo Koehler to maneuver through the defense. Sérgio Fernandez's late challenge caught a Guaratiba FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sérgio Fernandez helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Guaratiba FC booed when Jung 1972 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sérgio Fernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guaratiba FC's Vladimir Tavares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duda Arantes in the 23rd minute of play. In the 30th minute, Willian Maciel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jung 1972 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After 33 minutes of play, Jung 1972's Willian Maciel made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vladimir Tavares was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vladimir Tavares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duda Arantes in the 37th minute of the match. If Silas Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vladimir Tavares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Willian Maciel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Duda Arantes made a kick off. The supporters of Jung 1972 booed when Guaratiba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abelardo Koehler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Duda Arantes struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Vladimir Tavares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jung 1972. Jung 1972's Breno Machado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silas Sena in the 56th minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, Guaratiba FC's goal looked a bit too open when Duda Arantes came free, but Vladimir Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guaratiba FC's Vladimir Tavares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Guaratiba FC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duda Arantes in the 63rd minute of play forced Guaratiba FC's goalkeeper Vladimir Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Willian Maciel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 97th minute of the match, João da Costa got a very nice opportunity to score, but Vladimir Tavares was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Jung 1972 eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
