Spectators: 7320 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1720, VIP seats: 100) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Nestor Maia kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd minute Gernando Matos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdir Damião saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 5 minutes into the match, Banda AD's goalkeeper Zé Augusto do Nascimento had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nestor Maia. Banda AD's defense didn't have a chance, in the 6th minute, when Hernani Rocha scored to the left of an out of position Zé Augusto do Nascimento, making the score, 1-0. After 11 minutes, Nestor Maia made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Banda AD's Zé Augusto do Nascimento tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Zé Augusto do Nascimento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hernani Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gernando Matos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Damião having to interfere. Anselmo Salgado charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anselmo Salgado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 19 played minutes Leão da Serra FC got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Salgado. 22 minutes into the match, Dorian Costa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Valdir Damião. Leão da Serra FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dorian Costa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The audience was convinced that Gernando Matos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valdir Damião was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Magno Pitta kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. After 27 played minutes, Leão da Serra FC's Hernani Rocha shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Zé Augusto do Nascimento came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Leão da Serra FC reached it. Valdir Damião made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celsinho Severo in the 29th minute of play. Leão da Serra FC's Valdir Damião played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celsinho Severo in the 32nd minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, Hernani Rocha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zé Augusto do Nascimento. The audience thought a goal was coming when Serafim Marques got free with Zé Augusto do Nascimento in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 42 minutes into the game, João Francisco Pontes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Banda AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Leão da Serra FC the free kick. A collision led to Banda AD getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. João Francisco Pontes hit a great ball. Zé Augusto do Nascimento made an important save on a dangerous shot by Serafim Marques in the 43rd minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 45 minutes into the game, when Paulo-César Thingaa put in a rough tackle. 45 minutes into the game, one of Banda AD:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Zé Augusto do Nascimento, was totally fooled by Leão da Serra FC's Antônio Carlos Lara, who 48 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cafu de Amaral was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Leão da Serra FC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Hernani Rocha hit a great ball. Banda AD's Zé Augusto do Nascimento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Naldo Trevisan in the 56th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Banda AD's goal looked a bit too open when Nestor Maia came free, but Zé Augusto do Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zé Augusto do Nascimento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Serafim Marques in the 58th minute of the match. The supporters of Leão da Serra FC booed when Banda AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gernando Matos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Naldo Trevisan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zé Augusto do Nascimento came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Leão da Serra FC's Hernani Rocha. But to his dismay, Hernani Rocha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. 67 minutes into the match, Banda AD's goal looked a bit too open when Nestor Maia came free, but Zé Augusto do Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Serafim Marques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th minute Hernani Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Augusto do Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 70th match minute, Banda AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorian Costa to maneuver through the defense. In the 71st minute, Serafim Marques left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Leão da Serra FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nestor Maia in the 75th minute of play forced Banda AD's goalkeeper Zé Augusto do Nascimento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Banda AD's Celsinho Severo got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dorian Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 85th match minute, Banda AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cafu de Amaral to maneuver through the defense. In the 85th minute of the match Hernani Rocha sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zé Augusto do Nascimento skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Banda AD's Magno Pitta got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 93rdth minute of the game Nestor Maia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Banda AD's Zé Augusto do Nascimento was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 95th minute Celsinho Severo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdir Damião saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 98th minute Nestor Maia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Augusto do Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leão da Serra FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
