Leão da Serra FC's Valdir Damião played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Eger in the 4th minute of play. Naldo Trevisan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Jorginho da Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Mostardeiro Grêmio's goalkeeper Jorginho da Cunha, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 29th minute, Leão da Serra FC's Naldo Trevisan dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. A collision led to Leão da Serra FC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Acácio Vidal hit a great ball. When Valdo de Queiroz fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Leão da Serra FC's protests and gave Valdo de Queiroz a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Mostardeiro Grêmio booed when Leão da Serra FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdo de Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Leão da Serra FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rodriguinho Macedo came free, but Valdir Damião reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nestor Maia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jorginho da Cunha having to make a save. Jorginho da Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Naldo Trevisan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 53rd match minute, Mostardeiro Grêmio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Gustavo Loyola to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nestor Maia in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jorginho da Cunha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Serafim Marques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorginho da Cunha having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Eger in the 60th minute of play forced Leão da Serra FC's goalkeeper Valdir Damião to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Eger got in the 64th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Valdir Damião handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. 65 minutes into the match, Nestor Maia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jorginho da Cunha. Mostardeiro Grêmio's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nestor Maia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafim Marques in the 74th minute of play forced Mostardeiro Grêmio's goalkeeper Jorginho da Cunha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 77 minutes into the game, Leão da Serra FC's Serafim Marques nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jorginho da Cunha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Valdir Damião was a little too slow when Dé Paulista got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 81st minute. The score was now 3-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Eger in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valdir Damião saved Leão da Serra FC from getting behind. In the 90th minute Hernani Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorginho da Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dé Paulista during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 94th match minute, Mostardeiro Grêmio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dé Paulista to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Leão da Serra FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mostardeiro Grêmio had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
