Miguel Travassos took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonas Cardozo. Jonas Cardozo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Jorginho Barbosa hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. When Luiz Guilherme Meireles fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bola Bola's protests and gave Luiz Guilherme Meireles a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cosmos FC booed when Bola Bola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Guilherme Meireles didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 15 in the game by Silas Donatello from a close distance when the talented Donato Queirós managed to make a qualified save. Cosmos FC's players were relieved. After a defensive mix-up in Bola Bola's zone, Lúcio Sampaio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonas Cardozo came out of the goal and Lúcio Sampaio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Cosmos FC booed when Bola Bola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Guilherme Meireles didn't get a good kick on the ball. 21 minutes into the game, Edu Medeiros cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Jonas Cardozo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 31st minute, Silas Donatello left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bola Bola fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Silas Donatello kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Jonas Cardozo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fred Toscano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonas Cardozo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edu Medeiros went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. In the 41st match minute, Cosmos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorginho Barbosa to maneuver through the defense. Donato Queirós was a little too slow when Silas Donatello got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 43rd minute. The score was now 2-4. Silas Donatello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Queirós having to interfere.

The wind increased when Edu Medeiros made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Silas Donatello in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Donato Queirós prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 55th minute Edu Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonas Cardozo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Bola Bola defense, Edu Medeiros kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonas Cardozo. The Bola Bola fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonas Cardozo should have stopped the shot. 61 minutes into the game, Luiz Guilherme Meireles threw the ball into play from the sideline. Cosmos FC's Miguel Travassos quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Miguel Travassos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Jonas Cardozo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bola Bola's Jonas Cardozo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Bola Bola from getting a goal against them. After having played for 66 minutes, Miguel Travassos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cosmos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Travassos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 67th match minute, Bola Bola was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Pirani to maneuver through the defense. In the 69th minute Fred Toscano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonas Cardozo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Donato Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silas Donatello in the 79th minute of play. Narciso Quirino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Jonas Cardozo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonas Cardozo came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Cosmos FC's Lúcio Sampaio. But to his dismay, Lúcio Sampaio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-6. Edu Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Jonas Cardozo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonas Cardozo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fred Toscano, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Bola Bola's zone, Miguel Travassos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonas Cardozo came out of the goal and Miguel Travassos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match was over Cosmos FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Bola Bola throughout the match.
