A collision led to vasco sc getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Dinei Vaz hit a great ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luís Gustavo Loyola was the one to do the kick off. In the 62nd minute Sidnei Silva suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodriguinho Macedo during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 63 played minutes Mostardeiro Grêmio got a freekick which was hit by Rodriguinho Macedo.
