Joinville's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Serafina the free kick. The supporters of Serafina booed when Joinville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Paulo Koehler didn't get a good kick on the ball. 7 minutes into the game, Wellington Britto lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Oswaldo Passos. Joinville's Oswaldo Passos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Joinville from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giovani de Carvalho in the 14th minute of play forced Joinville's goalkeeper Oswaldo Passos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horácio Sá took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doni Urbano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dráuzio Diniz hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. 30 minutes into the match, Joinville's goalkeeper Oswaldo Passos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Giovani de Carvalho. Oswaldo Passos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wellington Britto in the 34th minute of play. Doni Urbano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Horácio Sá having to make a save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wellington Britto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Horácio Sá showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vladimir Neves in the 53rd minute of the match. Percival Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horácio Sá having to interfere. Oswaldo Passos came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Serafina's Giovani de Carvalho. But to his dismay, Giovani de Carvalho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Luiz Gustavo de Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oswaldo Passos having to interfere. João Paulo Koehler hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Joinville's João Paulo Koehler got a free kick in the 69th minute. After 74 minutes of play, Serafina's William Schmidt made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Oswaldo Passos was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 79th minute William Schmidt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oswaldo Passos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Wellington Britto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wellington Britto in the 87th minute of play forced Joinville's goalkeeper Oswaldo Passos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Doni Urbano fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Joinville's protests and gave Doni Urbano a yellow card for diving instead. After 89 played minutes Joinville got a freekick which was hit by Doni Urbano. Serafina's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
