After having played for 14 minutes, Toninho Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. S.E. Palmeiras Votorantim's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toninho Botelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Toledo in the 15th minute of play forced Mirassol Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Marcel Maciel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcel Maciel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Victor Toledo went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Marcel Maciel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Toledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Toninho Botelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Marcel Maciel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 36th minute, S.E. Palmeiras Votorantim's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Nilmar Couto fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joel Velloso in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joel Donatello prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eusébio Schmidt's late challenge caught a Mirassol Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eusébio Schmidt helped the player get up and apologised. Joel Donatello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Velloso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

53 minutes into the match, Mirassol Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Marcel Maciel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Toninho Botelho. In the 64th minute Victor Toledo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcel Maciel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute S.E. Palmeiras Votorantim were awarded a corner. Gabriel Pontes went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on S.E. Palmeiras Votorantim's corner Gabriel Pontes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Marcel Maciel quite easily take care of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Victor Toledo in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcel Maciel saved Mirassol Esporte Clube from getting behind. Nilmar Couto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Victor Toledo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Marcel Maciel came out and tried to block the shot, but Victor Toledo slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 70th minute. Toninho Botelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 85th minute, Joel Velloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Toninho Botelho struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Marcel Maciel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for S.E. Palmeiras Votorantim. S.E. Palmeiras Votorantim's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
