After 14 played minutes Joinville got a freekick which was hit by Dráuzio Diniz. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Ciro Cardozo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Collonials FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ciro Cardozo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oswaldo Passos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gilvan Dante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oswaldo Passos having to interfere. Oswaldo Passos made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Ciro Cardozo sent off a good shot on target. In the 20th match minute, Joinville was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elivélton Mello to maneuver through the defense. Gilvan Dante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oswaldo Passos having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Joinville's zone, Ciro Cardozo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oswaldo Passos came out of the goal and Ciro Cardozo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 29th minute, Percival Dias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Túlio Alcântara in the 31st minute of play forced Collonials FC's goalkeeper Bruno Severo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Daniel Trevisan fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Collonials FC's protests and gave Daniel Trevisan a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Collonials FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Daniel Trevisan hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ciro Cardozo got free with Oswaldo Passos in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ciro Cardozo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The Collonials FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Joinville's Oswaldo Passos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciro Cardozo in the 59th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Marcel Saraiva ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Oswaldo Passos was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Oswaldo Passos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moisés Salgado, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. In the 96th minute Moisés Salgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oswaldo Passos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
