The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Wilson Veiga took the ball and in the 7 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonas Gonçalves. Jonas Gonçalves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Ronaldo Barral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duda Neiva in the 9th minute of play. Jonas Gonçalves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilson Veiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the game, Wilson Veiga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Jonas Gonçalves was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Adalberto Passos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adalberto Passos in the 26th minute of play forced E.C Bahea's goalkeeper Jonas Gonçalves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonas Gonçalves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilson Veiga in the 27th minute of play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilson Veiga to make the kick off. Jonas Gonçalves made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Wilson Veiga sent off a good shot on target. Jonas Gonçalves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CORINTHIANS. The CORINTHIANS supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing CORINTHIANS would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
