The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Delfim Vinhas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cezar Ivasiuc having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Cafu Barbosa managed to get in a good position for a shot. SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA's supporters rose to their feet, but Cafu Barbosa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benê Aguiar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cafu Barbosa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Benê Aguiar made a huge save. In the 11th minute, Delfim Vinhas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA's Alessandro Furtado got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 14 minutes into the game, Iuri Dantas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Delta FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA the free kick. In the 17th minute, Delta FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Edgar Lago fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 19 minutes into the match, Alessandro Furtado dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Benê Aguiar, 1-0. After 27 played minutes Cafu Barbosa rounded Delta FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. After a rather tough play, SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA's Denílson de Castro got a free kick in the 30th minute. 32 minutes into the match, SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA's goal looked a bit too open when Delfim Vinhas came free, but Cezar Ivasiuc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
