Cafu Barbosa came free with the goalkeeper in the 6th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ronaldo Barral could save by the left post. After recieving a nice pass, SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA's Dagoberto Mandrak tried to score from far away in the 10th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Erasmo Ramos kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, Cafu Barbosa notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of CORINTHIANS's Ronaldo Barral. Ronaldo Barral was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ronaldo Barral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alessandro Furtado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adalberto Passos during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Adalberto Passos hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. CORINTHIANS's Ronaldo Barral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Lago in the 23rd minute of play. Cezar Ivasiuc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erasmo Ramos in the 25th minute of play. Ronaldo Barral was out of position in the 28 minute of play, and Edgar Lago capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Edgar Lago really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. A collision led to CORINTHIANS getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Moisés de Almeida hit a great ball. Ronaldo Barral didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cafu Barbosa went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. The crowd rose to their feet as Ricardinho da Mata kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ronaldo Barral. That made the score 4-0 in the 39 minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Wilson Veiga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wilson Veiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Cezar Ivasiuc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cafu Barbosa to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes CORINTHIANS got a freekick which was hit by Adalberto Passos. After 53 played minutes, SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA's Dagoberto Mandrak shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ronaldo Barral came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA reached it. Alessandro Furtado scored 5-0 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ronaldo Barral, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Moisés de Almeida hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. The supporters of SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA booed when CORINTHIANS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adalberto Passos didn't get a good kick on the ball. 64 minutes into the match, SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA's goal looked a bit too open when Erasmo Ramos came free, but Cezar Ivasiuc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronaldo Barral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardinho da Mata in the 70th minute of the match. Cafu Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. CORINTHIANS made a substitution. Caio Paiva replaced Artur Bueno. CORINTHIANS's Osmar Neiva was substituted for Adalberto Passos. CORINTHIANS's Ronaldo Barral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cafu Barbosa in the 76th minute of play. The supporters of SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA booed when CORINTHIANS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilson Veiga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ronaldo Barral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgar Lago, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Wilson Veiga hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA's zone, Rui Borges stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cezar Ivasiuc came out of the goal and Rui Borges tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA had played much better football throughout.
