Léo Lago didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alberto Sarmento went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Heleno de Freitas during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 20th minute, Heleno de Freitas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Haroldo Alagoano's late challenge caught a Anarcos E.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Haroldo Alagoano helped the player get up and apologised. After 24 played minutes Medianeira got a freekick which was hit by Haroldo Alagoano. In the 30th minute, Haroldo Alagoano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Manoel Tobias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evaristo Gaspar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 36 minutes into the match, Evaristo Gaspar notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Anarcos E.C's Manoel Tobias. Manoel Tobias was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Evaristo Gaspar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Manoel Tobias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Medianeira's Léo Lago got control of the ball when Alberto Sarmento tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Medianeira getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Vágner do Valle hit a great ball. After the first half Medianeira were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Evaristo Gaspar made a kick off. Elder Figueiredo hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Léo Lago made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luizão Queiroz in the 57th minute of play. After 62 played minutes Anarcos E.C got a freekick which was hit by Heleno de Freitas. When Haroldo Alagoano came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Medianeira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Haroldo Alagoano couldn't finish the play. Evaristo Gaspar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sydney Leme kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. If Evaristo Gaspar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manoel Tobias made an important save on a dangerous shot by Haroldo Alagoano in the 79th minute. Manoel Tobias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evaristo Gaspar, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 82nd match minute, Medianeira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alessandro Tasso to maneuver through the defense. 85 minutes into the game, Haroldo Alagoano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Manoel Tobias, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 92nd minute, Luizão Queiroz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Evaristo Gaspar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Medianeira's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
