An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulino Sacristán in the 30th minute of play forced Itapissuma's goalkeeper Marquinhos Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Itapissuma defense, Paulino Sacristán kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marquinhos Mendonça. The Itapissuma fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marquinhos Mendonça should have stopped the shot. Francisco Macedo scored 0-6 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marquinhos Mendonça, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marquinhos Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vicente Silva in the 47th minute of play. Itapissuma's Marquinhos Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulino Sacristán in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
