Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nelson Furtado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Sarmento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mazinho Meireles got free with Nelson Furtado in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Manoel Tobias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baltazar da Rocha in the 16th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Tadeu Donatello managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gomão EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tadeu Donatello was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manoel Tobias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 22nd minute, Sydney Leme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Albertinho Camargo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Baltazar da Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Baltazar da Rocha in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Manoel Tobias prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Baltazar da Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Anarcos E.C getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Sydney Leme hit a great ball. Alex Romero hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Anarcos E.C's Heleno de Freitas got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 46 minutes into the match, Anarcos E.C's goal looked a bit too open when Baltazar da Rocha came free, but Manoel Tobias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The wind increased when Baltazar da Rocha made the kick off in the second half. Baltazar da Rocha received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Manoel Tobias came out and tried to block the shot, but Baltazar da Rocha slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 54th minute. After having played for 61 minutes, Baltazar da Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gomão EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Baltazar da Rocha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tadeu Donatello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Gomão EC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Anselmo Bastos hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltazar da Rocha in the 72nd minute of play forced Anarcos E.C's goalkeeper Manoel Tobias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Anarcos E.C's Sydney Leme got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Nelson Furtado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Sarmento in the 78th minute of play. In the 79th minute, Tadeu Donatello reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Manoel Tobias. The goal made the score 0-2. Nelson Furtado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Sarmento, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Nelson Furtado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luizão Queiroz went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The supporters of Gomão EC booed when Anarcos E.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sydney Leme didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Anarcos E.C's Manoel Tobias got control of the ball when Baltazar da Rocha tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Gomão EC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Anarcos E.C.
