When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Fabiano Marques put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Geovanni Leão. 10 minutes into the game, Jangada's Oscar Amaral nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Humberto Corrêa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marquinhos Sena got free with Humberto Corrêa in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Jangada defense, David Sarmento kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Geovanni Leão. The Jangada fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Geovanni Leão should have stopped the shot. Marquinhos Sena hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Fabiano Marques's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Geovanni Leão was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Jacuipense's Fabiano Marques got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Deivid Favoretto kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Jangada's Oscar Amaral shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 36th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Humberto Corrêa but with some difficulty. In the 39th minute, David Sarmento left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jacuipense fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. Marquinhos Sena's late challenge caught a Jacuipense's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marquinhos Sena helped the player get up and apologised. In the 44th match minute, Jangada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marquinhos Sena to maneuver through the defense. David Sarmento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Geovanni Leão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Geovanni Leão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Sarmento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marquinhos Sena hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. 61 minutes into the game, Fabiano Marques lined in a short shot 1-5 behind a frustrated Geovanni Leão. 64 minutes into the game, Fabiano Marques recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Geovanni Leão. Fabiano Marques showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-6. The supporters of Jacuipense booed when Jangada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Válbson Dracena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Geovanni Leão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fabiano Marques in the 72nd minute. Vânderson Botelho hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Jangada's defense didn't have a chance, in the 82nd minute, when David Sarmento scored to the left of an out of position Geovanni Leão, making the score, 1-8. After 92 minutes of play, Jacuipense's David Sarmento made it 1-9 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Geovanni Leão was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the final whistle sounded Jacuipense left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Jangada.
