In the 20th minute Eugênio Romero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonas Vander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonas Vander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caio de Mendonça in the 21st minute of play. Luís Gustavo Cardoso scored 1-2 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonas Vander, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Caio de Mendonça put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Jonas Vander. The attack was good, but when Henrique Madureira in the 32nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The audience was convinced that Marcelinho Massa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonas Vander was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. 42 minutes into the game, Henrique Madureira lined in a short shot 2-3 behind a frustrated Oliver Bierhoff. 46 minutes into the match, MindHunter City's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Gustavo Cardoso came free, but Jonas Vander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The audience was convinced that Henrique Madureira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oliver Bierhoff was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Juvenal Félix's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Oliver Bierhoff read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. RiverFolia's Caio de Mendonça got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Oliver Bierhoff showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henrique Madureira, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as RiverFolia's Luís Gustavo Cardoso slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonas Vander. That made the score 2-6 after 85 minutes of play. Ronaldinho Arósio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Jonas Vander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. RiverFolia's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
