Spectators: 7493 (Terracing: 5621, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Adilson Nascimento took the kick off in the first half of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ademar Pinheiro during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 5th minute, Ademar Pinheiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adilson Nascimento in the 8th minute of play forced Trocary's goalkeeper Frank Sarmento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frank Sarmento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dário Branco in the 9th minute of play. After 11 played minutes Ferraz got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Antunes. Edu Silva struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Tião Veloso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Trocary. The supporters of Trocary booed when Ferraz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafael Antunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Trocary's Benedito Varela quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ademar Pinheiro, made in the 16th minute of the game. Ferraz's Tião Veloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edu Silva in the 18th minute of play. In the 19th match minute, Trocary was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luisão Motta to maneuver through the defense. In the 23rd minute, Chiquinho Berger had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Enrique Alvarenga's late challenge caught a Ferraz's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Enrique Alvarenga helped the player get up and apologised. Ferraz's Dedé Lucas was substituted for Chiquinho Berger. After 23 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Trocary! Trocary:s Frank Sarmento showed great skill when he stopped Amauri Breckenfeld:s penalty. After 32 played minutes Trocary got a freekick which was hit by Benedito Varela. In the 35th minute, Edu Silva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tião Veloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelinho Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 46th minute, Marcelinho Branco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tião Veloso was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edu Silva to make the kick off. If Benedito Varela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 54th minute Edu Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tião Veloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Frank Sarmento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adilson Nascimento in the 62nd minute of play. A collision led to Ferraz getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Flávio Capixaba hit a great ball. Hermínio Lira kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adilson Nascimento in the 69th minute of play forced Trocary's goalkeeper Frank Sarmento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th minute, Amauri Breckenfeld made a precise shot to the right of Frank Sarmento. Trocary's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Edu Silva received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tião Veloso came out and tried to block the shot, but Edu Silva slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 84th minute. In the 89th minute, Adilson Nascimento ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Frank Sarmento was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Frank Sarmento came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Ferraz's Dedé Lucas. But to his dismay, Dedé Lucas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. When the referee blew the final whistle, Ferraz could leave the field as winners, despite Trocary having more of the ball for most of the match.
