Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Kléberson de Toledo started the match with the kick off. Kaká Paraibano took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Válbson das Neves. Válbson das Neves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 17 minutes into the match, Hammonia's goalkeeper Luís Queirós had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sílvio Luiz de Alcântara. After 22 minutes, Bruninho Ferreira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hammonia and the Haas players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 21st minute of the game. One of Hammonia:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Haas:s goal. Hammonia:s Luís Queirós showed great skill when he stopped Sidney Maranhense:s penalty. In the 23rd minute, Sidney Maranhense left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Haas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. A sloppy throw-in by Manfredo Cavalcante in the 27th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Hammonia's Bruno Soares. In the 28th match minute, Haas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kléberson de Toledo to maneuver through the defense. Kaká Paraibano might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Válbson das Neves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kaká Paraibano ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kléberson de Toledo in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luís Queirós prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Kaká Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kaká Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Válbson das Neves having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Serafim de Carvalho during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Serafim de Carvalho hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Vicente Cearense made in the 52nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Hammonia's Anselmo Munhoz. Luís Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sílvio Luiz de Alcântara in the 56th minute of the match. Luís Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kléberson de Toledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anselmo Munhoz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Válbson das Neves having to interfere. A collision led to Haas getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Serafim de Carvalho hit a great ball. Haas's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Kaká Paraibano 69 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-2. Sílvio Luiz de Alcântara charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sílvio Luiz de Alcântara the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 72nd match minute, Haas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sílvio Luiz de Alcântara to maneuver through the defense. When Kaká Paraibano came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Hammonia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kaká Paraibano couldn't finish the play. 76 minutes into the game, Aírton Capixaba was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Haas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hammonia the free kick. After having played for 78 minutes, Sílvio Luiz de Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Haas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sílvio Luiz de Alcântara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Haas getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Faustão Carvalho hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Kaká Paraibano took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Válbson das Neves to make any attempt to save it. Luís Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sílvio Luiz de Alcântara in the 93rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Hammonia defense, Sílvio Luiz de Alcântara kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luís Queirós. The Hammonia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luís Queirós should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Hammonia players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
