Spectators: 6722 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1722, VIP seats: 0) Paulinho de Lima started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. With a little luck, Trocary's Frank Sarmento got control of the ball when Sandrinho da Costa tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Augusto Matos got free with Frank Sarmento in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Carnaubal's Waldemar de Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edu Silva in the 9th minute of play. After 10 minutes of play, Trocary's Edu Silva made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Waldemar de Medeiros was left in no man's land by his defense there! Edu Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Waldemar de Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sandrinho da Costa took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Frank Sarmento. Frank Sarmento dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 22nd minute, Trocary's Luisão Motta seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Luisão Motta the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Trocary protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Luisão Motta had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 22 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Trocary! Conrado Novaes charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Conrado Novaes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Trocary booed when Carnaubal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrado Novaes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benedito Varela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Waldemar de Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Waldemar de Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benedito Varela, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. 34 minutes into the match, Carnaubal's goal looked a bit too open when Edu Silva came free, but Waldemar de Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermínio Lira in the 39th minute of play forced Carnaubal's goalkeeper Waldemar de Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Waldemar de Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benedito Varela in the 42nd minute of the match. Enrique Alvarenga charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Enrique Alvarenga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 44 played minutes Trocary got a freekick which was hit by Enrique Alvarenga. Marcelinho Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldemar de Medeiros having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcelinho Branco was the one to do the kick off. Waldemar de Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedito Varela in the 53rd minute of play. If Benedito Varela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcelinho Branco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Waldemar de Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Enrique Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Waldemar de Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelinho Branco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 74 minutes, Elano Paraíba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trocary's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elano Paraíba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 75th match minute, Carnaubal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Faria to maneuver through the defense. 78 minutes into the match, Marcelinho Branco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Waldemar de Medeiros. Carnaubal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcelinho Branco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. If Hermínio Lira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th minute, Edu Silva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Waldemar de Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelinho Branco in the 89th minute of play. Waldemar de Medeiros stood somewhat misplaced when Hermínio Lira came free in front of goal and shot 2-3 to the left of him in the 91 minute. Trocary played a much better game than Carnaubal and deserved their victory. The Carnaubal players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
