An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulinho de Lima in the 20th minute of play forced Fumbica FC's goalkeeper Darley Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Fumbica FC's Germano Mello got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 26th minute, Sandrinho da Costa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Carnaubal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Noel Valle's late challenge caught a Carnaubal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Noel Valle helped the player get up and apologised. Noel Valle hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Charles das Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anísio Vasconcelos helped the player get up and apologised. In the 39th minute, Anísio Vasconcelos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by João Francisco Reis during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fumbica FC made a substitution. Vitório Catarinense replaced Charles das Neves. A collision led to Carnaubal getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. João Francisco Reis hit a great ball.

The wind increased when Fernando Terra made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Carnaubal booed when Fumbica FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anísio Vasconcelos didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Fumbica FC's Zülfikar Atlas got a free kick in the 60th minute. When Paulinho de Lima came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Carnaubal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulinho de Lima couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Fumbica FC's zone, Sandrinho da Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Darley Taffarel came out of the goal and Sandrinho da Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedro Augusto Matos kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Waldemar de Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernando Terra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Sandrinho da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 96 minutes, Fernando Terra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fumbica FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernando Terra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carnaubal were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Fumbica FC to leave the ground with a draw.
