Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Kaká Paraibano got the match started through his kick off. Kaká Paraibano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sandrinho Peres read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. Biriricas's Sandrinho Peres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaká Paraibano in the 5th minute of play. Sandrinho Peres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaká Paraibano in the 6th minute of the match. 10 minutes into the match, Hammonia's goal looked a bit too open when Adelino Nóbrega came free, but Luís Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Hammonia booed when Biriricas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Davi Paraibano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sandrinho Peres had great luck who in the 14thth minute grab hold of the ball when Kaká Paraibano from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaká Paraibano in the 26th minute of play forced Biriricas's goalkeeper Sandrinho Peres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Biriricas's Donato de Almeida sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luís Queirós narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Aílton Trevisan made in the 45th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Hammonia's Anselmo Munhoz. When Adelino Nóbrega fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Biriricas's protests and gave Adelino Nóbrega a yellow card for diving instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adelino Nóbrega to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Donato de Almeida got free with Luís Queirós in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Hammonia booed when Biriricas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Váldson Tinoco didn't get a good kick on the ball. But to his dismay, Kaká Paraibano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 92 minutes into the game, Sandro Paiva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Biriricas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hammonia the free kick. Hammonia's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
