The coaching staff of Tactics FF protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Carlos Udalaitz had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 7th minute, one of Tactics FF:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Tactics FF. Reynaldo Domingues shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After 11 minutes, David Vale mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tactics FF and the Apiacás Esporte Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 11th match minute, Tactics FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Vale to maneuver through the defense. Edmond Soucy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Serginho Bittencourt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmond Soucy's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Tactics FF's goal looked a bit too open when Reynaldo Domingues came free, but Narciso Hoffmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Serginho Bittencourt was a little too slow when Genílson Furtado got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 22nd minute. The score was now 2-0. A collision led to Tactics FF getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Edvaldo Araújo hit a great ball. When Allan Arruda fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Apiacás Esporte Clube's protests and gave Allan Arruda a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Apiacás Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Narciso Hoffmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Domingues, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Francisco Torres's late challenge caught a Apiacás Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Francisco Torres helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Tactics FF's Francisco Torres got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Serginho Bittencourt was out of position in the 44 minute of play, and Edmond Soucy capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Edmond Soucy really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nelsinho Peres stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Apiacás Esporte Clube were awarded a corner. Reynaldo Domingues went to the cornerflag to take it.
