Narciso Freire did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Luiz Motta 12 minutes into the match. A sloppy throw-in by Hélio Rezende in the 16th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Eldorado FC's Lino Queirós. 17 minutes into the match, Narciso Freire had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luiz Motta. SC Conapool's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Narciso Freire was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. SC Conapool's Douglas Lago got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Enio Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastião Mandrak in the 37th minute of play. Enio Quirino didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Douglas Lago went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulo José Damião was the one to do the kick off. Enio Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastião Mandrak in the 52nd minute of the match. Eldorado FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastião Mandrak in the 80th minute of play forced Eldorado FC's goalkeeper Enio Quirino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Narciso Brodel got free with Enio Quirino in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
