Jarbas Pinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serginho Bittencourt having to interfere. Serginho Bittencourt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredão Magalhães, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. When Yuri do Nascimento fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grêmio Osasco Audax's protests and gave Yuri do Nascimento a yellow card for diving instead. After 23 played minutes Grêmio Osasco Audax got a freekick which was hit by Yuri do Nascimento. After 25 played minutes Apiacás Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by William Cardozo. After a rather tough play, Grêmio Osasco Audax's Roberto Moura got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After having played for 34 minutes, Nelsinho Peres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Apiacás Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nelsinho Peres was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Nelsinho Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Serginho Bittencourt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredão Magalhães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Grêmio Osasco Audax's zone, Reynaldo Domingues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kiko Travassos came out of the goal and Reynaldo Domingues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Nelsinho Peres made the kick off in the second half. A hard shot 53 in the game by Alfredão Magalhães from a close distance when the talented Serginho Bittencourt managed to make a qualified save. Apiacás Esporte Clube's players were relieved. After 56 played minutes Grêmio Osasco Audax got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Moura. Apiacás Esporte Clube's Reynaldo Domingues couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 57th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Grêmio Osasco Audax. Reynaldo Domingues might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kiko Travassos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Reynaldo Domingues ran back to his position shaking his head. Reynaldo Domingues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Kiko Travassos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kiko Travassos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nelsinho Peres in the 63rd minute of play. Ricardo Secco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Lino de Queiroz charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lino de Queiroz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Grêmio Osasco Audax's Fernandão de Lima was substituted for Alfredão Magalhães. Lino de Queiroz hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. William Cardozo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Reynaldo Domingues might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kiko Travassos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Reynaldo Domingues ran back to his position shaking his head. 93 minutes into the match, Grêmio Osasco Audax's goal looked a bit too open when Reynaldo Domingues came free, but Kiko Travassos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by José Cardozo during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the referee ended the match the Apiacás Esporte Clube players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
