When Cesinha Meira came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Turkos do RJ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cesinha Meira couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Didi Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vasco Ji-Paraná FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Didi Lima was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dé Almeida breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ernani Amaral struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Dé Almeida didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vasco Ji-Paraná FC. 20 minutes into the match, Vasco Ji-Paraná FC's Ernani Amaral sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dé Almeida narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Vasco Ji-Paraná FC booed when Turkos do RJ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natã Baptista didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dé Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Didi Lima in the 21st minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Turkos do RJ's goal looked a bit too open when Narciso Barbosa came free, but Dé Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 26 minutes, José Lucas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Turkos do RJ and the Vasco Ji-Paraná FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 26 played minutes Turkos do RJ got a freekick which was hit by José Lucas. Dé Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Didi Lima, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edmundo de Azevedo was the one to do the kick off. If Celsinho de Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Celsinho de Moraes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Cesinha Meira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Turkos do RJ's supporters rose to their feet, but Cesinha Meira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juninho Prata breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Vasco Ji-Paraná FC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Celsinho de Moraes hit a great ball. Dé Almeida didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ernani Amaral went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Celsinho de Moraes in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dé Almeida prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 77th minute, Edmundo de Azevedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 82 minutes, Celsinho de Moraes made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Turkos do RJ's Dé Almeida tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Dé Almeida stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ernani Amaral's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. Celsinho de Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Dé Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Ernani Amaral ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dé Almeida was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Natã Baptista kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. A sloppy throw-in by Cláudio Nogueira in the 94th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Vasco Ji-Paraná FC's Didi Lima. An unexpectedly hard shot by Didi Lima in the 94th minute of play forced Turkos do RJ's goalkeeper Dé Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Edmundo de Azevedo fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Turkos do RJ's protests and gave Edmundo de Azevedo a yellow card for diving instead. Turkos do RJ's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
