But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Túlio Vergílio couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Túlio Vergílio during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a left leg Rui Liberato saved Zahariz FC from getting behind. Caboto SS's Murilo Guedes got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leopoldo Gerber to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Caboto SS booed when Zahariz FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frederico Penha didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Caboto SS getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Túlio Vergílio hit a great ball. Caboto SS's Aritza Vicuña played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Gerber in the 76th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Caboto SS's Murilo Guedes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rui Liberato. That made the score 0-1 after 84 minutes of play. In the 96th minute Murilo Guedes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rui Liberato saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Caboto SS walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
