Independente FC's Luiz Guilherme Mendes got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luiz Guilherme Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gonçalo Alagoano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thomás Ramalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thomás Ramalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonçalo Alagoano having to interfere. After having played for 85 minutes, Luiz Guilherme Mendes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Independente FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Guilherme Mendes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 89 minutes into the match, Independente FC's goal looked a bit too open when Vinícius Guedes came free, but Nilmar Torres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There was no doubt that Independente FC were the better team. Independente FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
