Rui Liberato showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Quintal, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Nilmar Torres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Gerber in the 11th minute of play. After some careless play in the Independente FC defense, Leopoldo Gerber kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nilmar Torres. The Independente FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nilmar Torres should have stopped the shot. In the 18thth minute of the game Leopoldo Gerber who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Independente FC's Nilmar Torres was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leopoldo Gerber recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 22nd play minute Thomás Ramalho came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Rui Liberato. 1-1. After some careless play in the Independente FC defense, Frederico Penha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nilmar Torres. The Independente FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nilmar Torres should have stopped the shot. Jaime Quintal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Zahariz FC's Frederico Penha got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Rui Liberato showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Guilherme Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 37th minute, Thomás Ramalho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Independente FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. After a rather tough play, Zahariz FC's Frederico Penha got a free kick in the 41st minute. In the 45th match minute, Zahariz FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvinho Veiga to maneuver through the defense. Jaime Quintal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Leopoldo Gerber made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Thomás Ramalho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rui Liberato was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Rui Liberato came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Independente FC's Jaime Quintal. But to his dismay, Jaime Quintal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. The supporters of Independente FC booed when Zahariz FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anísio Sena didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 62 played minutes Zahariz FC got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Gerber. In the 69th minute, Jaime Quintal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Independente FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-2. Rui Liberato made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Quintal in the 74th minute of play. Frederico Penha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Independente FC's zone, Frederico Penha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nilmar Torres came out of the goal and Frederico Penha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luizão de Mendonça sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Aílton de Almeida fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Independente FC's protests and gave Aílton de Almeida a yellow card for diving instead. Aílton de Almeida hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Leopoldo Gerber made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 85thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Nilmar Torres would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. In the 87th minute Jaime Quintal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rui Liberato saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 89th minute, Leopoldo Gerber got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Zahariz FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Independente FC.
