Laércio Cardozo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Maria Paiva having to interfere. A collision led to KRAKATOA F.C. getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Claudinho de Souza hit a great ball. After having played for 8 minutes, Laércio Cardozo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. XV de Piracicaba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laércio Cardozo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Laércio Cardozo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Maria Paiva was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. In the 12th minute Nando Gerber shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Maria Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute, Laércio Cardozo made a precise shot to the right of José Maria Paiva. KRAKATOA F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Bebeto Pena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. José Maria Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Caco de Mendonça came free with the goalkeeper in the 19th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Fernando Quintal could save by the left post. In the 23rd minute of the match, Júnior Campidelis tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Fernando Quintal saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Laércio Cardozo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Maria Paiva having to interfere. Nando Gerber took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised José Maria Paiva. José Maria Paiva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After a rather tough play, XV de Piracicaba's João Augusto de Souza got a free kick in the 31st minute. In the 32nd minute, Tiago Gabriel Baptista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fernando Quintal made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Caco de Mendonça sent off a good shot on target. Laércio Cardozo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Maria Paiva having to interfere. In the 37th minute Nando Gerber shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Maria Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Laércio Cardozo in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Maria Paiva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 43 minutes into the match, Nando Gerber notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of KRAKATOA F.C.'s José Maria Paiva. José Maria Paiva was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nando Gerber to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in KRAKATOA F.C.'s zone, Laércio Cardozo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Maria Paiva came out of the goal and Laércio Cardozo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind KRAKATOA F.C.'s goalkeeper José Maria Paiva, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. João Augusto de Souza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. José Maria Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. KRAKATOA F.C.'s José Maria Paiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nando Gerber in the 56th minute of play. Bebeto Pena might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Maria Paiva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bebeto Pena ran back to his position shaking his head. José Maria Paiva came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by XV de Piracicaba's Nando Gerber. But to his dismay, Nando Gerber quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. After 64 minutes of play, XV de Piracicaba's Laércio Cardozo made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. José Maria Paiva was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in KRAKATOA F.C.'s zone, Bebeto Pena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Maria Paiva came out of the goal and Bebeto Pena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 68 minutes, Gonçalo da Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. XV de Piracicaba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gonçalo da Rocha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gonçalo da Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. XV de Piracicaba's João Augusto de Souza pulled a muscle in his back after 72 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 72 minutes, Fabrício Aguiar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KRAKATOA F.C. and the XV de Piracicaba players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fabrício Aguiar hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute Laércio Cardozo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Maria Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Laércio Cardozo struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. José Maria Paiva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for XV de Piracicaba. Laércio Cardozo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without José Maria Paiva having to make a save. With a little luck, KRAKATOA F.C.'s José Maria Paiva got control of the ball when Laércio Cardozo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Carlinhos Ortiz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José Maria Paiva read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. Laércio Cardozo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but José Maria Paiva firmly grabbed it by the left post. 89 minutes into the match, KRAKATOA F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Carlinhos Ortiz came free, but José Maria Paiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Laércio Cardozo came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the XV de Piracicaba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Laércio Cardozo couldn't finish the play. In the 94th minute Carlinhos Ortiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Maria Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
