Wesley Tróia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. Arthur Martins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gugu Gaúcho made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Marcinho do Nascimento sent off a good shot on target. 5 minutes into the game, Biquinha FC's Marcinho do Nascimento nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gugu Gaúcho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After a rather tough play, Barra Funda F.C's Amílton Gomes got a free kick in the 10th minute. Norberto Goiano scored 1-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arthur Martins, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 16 minutes into the match, Wesley Tróia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arthur Martins. Biquinha FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wesley Tróia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Jefferson Soeiro hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Arthur Martins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wesley Tróia in the 27th minute of play. In the 31st match minute, Barra Funda F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jefferson Soeiro to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute of the game, Hortêncio Freire landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Adilson Vinhas's late challenge caught a Barra Funda F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adilson Vinhas helped the player get up and apologised. After 37 played minutes Biquinha FC got a freekick which was hit by Adilson Vinhas. Barra Funda F.C's Gugu Gaúcho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Túlio da Silveira in the 39th minute of play. Túlio da Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Gugu Gaúcho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 45 minutes into the game, when Jefferson Soeiro put in a rough tackle. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Norberto Goiano to make the kick off. Barra Funda F.C's Gugu Gaúcho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adilson Vinhas in the 69th minute of play. In the 73rd match minute, Biquinha FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Túlio da Silveira to maneuver through the defense. Arthur Martins was out of position in the 74 minute of play, and Norberto Goiano capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Norberto Goiano really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. Gugu Gaúcho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Túlio da Silveira in the 77th minute of play. If Norberto Goiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Barra Funda F.C's Gugu Gaúcho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reginaldo Correia in the 93rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Barra Funda F.C's Nelson Rosado got a free kick in the 95th minute. Arlindo Soares's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Gugu Gaúcho - 3-3 was put on the score board in the 96th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Biquinha FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
