The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 minutes of play, Xodó da Vovó A.C.'s Zézinho Urbano made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. In the 11th minute Dread Terror were awarded a corner. Leandro Lira went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Leandro Lira almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Xodó da Vovó A.C.'s Gilmar Pirani did a great save. Marcinho Quintal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgílio de Brito in the 12th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Germano Vinhas got free with Gilmar Pirani in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Leandro Lira hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zézinho Urbano in the 16th minute of play forced Dread Terror's goalkeeper Marcinho Quintal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 16 minutes, Wilfredo Cordario mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dread Terror and the Xodó da Vovó A.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Wilfredo Cordario kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Virgílio de Brito charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Virgílio de Brito the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Marcinho Quintal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zézinho Urbano, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 37 minutes into the match, Dread Terror's Germano Vinhas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gilmar Pirani narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 39th minute, Virgílio de Brito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Xodó da Vovó A.C. defense, Germano Vinhas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gilmar Pirani. The Xodó da Vovó A.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gilmar Pirani should have stopped the shot. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zézinho Urbano to make the kick off. Leandro Lira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 53rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gilmar Pirani. Xodó da Vovó A.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 53 minutes into the game, Zézinho Urbano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Xodó da Vovó A.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dread Terror the free kick. After 53 played minutes Xodó da Vovó A.C. got a freekick which was hit by Zézinho Urbano. Germano Vinhas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilmar Pirani having to interfere. With a little luck, Dread Terror's Marcinho Quintal got control of the ball when Zézinho Urbano tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 70th minute, Zézinho Urbano made a precise shot to the right of Marcinho Quintal. Dread Terror's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After a rather tough play, Xodó da Vovó A.C.'s Isaltino de Amorim got a free kick in the 76th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Germano Vinhas in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilmar Pirani saved Xodó da Vovó A.C. from getting behind. Marcinho Quintal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgílio de Brito in the 81st minute of the match. Zézinho Urbano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Marcinho Quintal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 90 minutes, Virgílio de Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Xodó da Vovó A.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Virgílio de Brito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dread Terror's Marcinho Quintal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Dread Terror from getting a goal against them.
