Spectators: 7490 (Terracing: 5618, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) Karavela's Guto Rosado started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Enrique Mattos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Guto Rosado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gabriel Quadros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Guirapa SC's Jarbas Favoretto got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 18th minute, Adriano Melo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Dino Saldanha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Karavela's supporters rose to their feet, but Dino Saldanha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gabriel Quadros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 22nd minute Enrique Mattos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Quadros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ramón Proença kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, Basílio Branco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Denílson Catarinense. Karavela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Basílio Branco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guto Rosado got free with Gabriel Quadros in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Karavela booed when Guirapa SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vinícius Donatello didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 39 played minutes Guirapa SC got a freekick which was hit by Basílio Branco. Claudinho Vieira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jarbas Favoretto struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Denílson Catarinense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guirapa SC. 46 minutes into the game, one of Karavela:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Karavela:s Denílson Catarinense showed great skill when he stopped Jarbas Favoretto:s penalty. After the first half Guirapa SC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jarbas Favoretto to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jarbas Favoretto got free with Denílson Catarinense in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Guirapa SC's Claudinho Vieira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Denílson Catarinense. That made the score 0-2 after 53 minutes of play. A collision led to Guirapa SC getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Raphael Trevisan hit a great ball. Karavela's Guto Rosado got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Basílio Branco hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. When Dino Saldanha came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Karavela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dino Saldanha couldn't finish the play. Denílson Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jarbas Favoretto, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. If Jarbas Favoretto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claudinho Vieira might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Denílson Catarinense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Claudinho Vieira ran back to his position shaking his head. Ramón Proença received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Gabriel Quadros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guto Rosado in the 85th minute of the match.
